How to Apply
Prospective students apply for admission to the Microbiology & Molecular Genetics Program at the address listed below or the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. There is no absolute application deadline for domestic students, although submission by January 15 is encouraged. For international students, applications are due by December 15 and are reviewed in mid-February.
Successful applicants will be provided with the opportunity to visit Houston in order to meet the Program’s faculty and students and to learn more about the Program, the Houston scientific community, and life in the Houston area.
Students generally are admitted for the Fall semester of each year. However, students have the option of beginning their research rotations in the Summer before the Fall term begins.
Applications are invited from all interested individuals regardless of gender, race, religion, disability, or national origin. We encourage candidates to contact any of the Program faculty with inquiries regarding the Program or specific research interests.
